My Experience at the Kunstmuseum Erlangen Event
Leading the sketchwalk for Urban Sketchers Erlangen at this important event was an honor. The combination of live music, the museum's rich history, and the community's energy created an inspiring atmosphere. As I sketched the talented musicians Jens Magdeburg on piano and Hendrik Gosmann on bass, I felt a deep connection to the art and the moment. This day reminded me why I love urban sketching—it’s about capturing fleeting moments that are both personal and meaningful.
As part of the event, I led fellow sketchers in capturing the beauty of the museum and its surroundings. It was wonderful to see so many people come together to celebrate art, history, and the connections we make through both.A special thank you to the curators, including Sophia Petri, and to Dr. Herbert Kurz, the director of the Kunstmuseum, for inviting us to be part of this remarkable day. It’s always a privilege to lead sketchwalks, but this event felt especially meaningful because of the deep cultural and historical significance behind it.
A Reflective Moment
It was a joy to capture the energy of the day and watch the sketches come to life alongside live music.

One of the highlights of the day was the live music performance by Jens Magdeburg on piano and Hendrik Gosmann on bass. Their music added a beautiful layer of inspiration as we sketched the day away. I couldn’t resist capturing their performance in my sketchbook—it was a perfect blend of art and music, a truly magical combination.
If you're interested in bringing a creative element like live sketching to your next event—whether it’s a wedding, corporate function, or private celebration—I’d love to help create memorable keepsakes for your guests.
