FAQ: Live Wedding Illustration in Germany
My live wedding painting service brings a touch of artistry to your celebration — a blend of fine art and emotional storytelling. As a live wedding painter and illustrator based in Bavaria, I capture love stories in watercolor — elegant, minimal, and timeless.
How many guests can you sketch during a wedding?
Every wedding has its own rhythm — laughter, toasts, hugs, and quiet glances.
In that flow, I typically create 6–8 live guest portraits per hour.
With a 3-hour package, around 25–30 guests receive their own hand-drawn keepsake.
For larger celebrations, my full-day packages ensure that everyone has their moment captured.
I like to think of it as painting a symphony of moments — one guest, one story at a time.

How long does one portrait take?
Each guest portrait takes around 5–10 minutes, painted live while your guests mingle and enjoy the moment.
Your couple’s portrait, however, is more detailed — around 30–60 minutes — and can be created live or from your favorite photos afterward.
It’s a piece that tells the story of your day in a way photos simply can’t.

What materials do you use?
I use archival ink and artist-grade watercolor on premium 300 gsm fine art paper.
Each piece is crafted to last a lifetime — vivid, tactile, and timeless.
Every portrait is slipped into a protective sleeve, so guests can take it home immediately and frame it as a keepsake.

Can the sketches be personalized for our wedding?
Absolutely — and they should be.
Your paper can feature your names, date, monogram, or custom logo, printed in your chosen color palette or theme.
It’s a small but meaningful detail that makes every piece unmistakably yours.
Think of it as your wedding aesthetic turned into fine art — elegant, personal, and completely one-of-a-kind.

What if not all guests can be sketched live?

No one is left behind.
If time runs short, I take reference photos discreetly and complete any unfinished portraits in my studio afterward.
Within a week, they’re carefully packaged and mailed to you, ready to gift or share with your guests.

Can I commission my couple artworks instead of live sketching?

Of course.
Many couples choose a studio portrait before or after their wedding — sometimes as a gift to parents, or as a framed memory for their home.
Whether painted from photos or created live, the goal is the same: to capture your story beautifully and authentically.

Do you have a contract?

Yes.
Once you confirm your booking, you’ll receive a simple, clear service agreement outlining your package, timeline, and payment terms.
No surprises — just transparency and trust, so you can enjoy the creative process with peace of mind.
What happens after our wedding?

After your celebration, I’ll complete:
-
Any remaining guest portraits from studio references
-
Your couple’s portrait (live or refined afterward)
-
And, a digital gallery of your artworks — a beautiful way to revisit every smile, every brushstroke, every memory.

I believe art should feel transparent — no hidden costs, just handcrafted value and care.
How many weddings do you take each year?

I keep my calendar intentionally limited — usually under 15 weddings per year.
That way, I can give each couple the full attention and creative presence they deserve.
It’s not about volume — it’s about devotion.
Every event I paint is a chapter in my creative story — and I want yours to feel deeply personal.
.
How long have you been an artist?
I’ve been drawing since childhood — but my professional journey began with urban sketching and live event art across Germany.
Weddings quickly became my favorite subject because they combine emotion, movement, and storytelling.
Every wedding I paint reminds me why I love what I do — capturing love in real time.

Do you collaborate with planners and photographers?
Absolutely.
I often coordinate directly with wedding planners or photographers to ensure my setup blends seamlessly into your event.
I believe live art should add grace, not distraction.
What happens if something unexpected happens?

Weddings (and life) sometimes come with surprises — from sudden rain to unexpected changes in plans.
That’s why flexibility is part of my promise to every couple.
If you need to postpone or make changes, your deposit remains valid and we’ll work together to reschedule whenever possible.
If, in the rare case, I become ill or unable to attend, I will either:
• arrange for a trusted professional artist from my network to take my place, or
• return your full deposit — whichever you prefer.
My goal is simple: to make sure your story is beautifully illustrated, no matter what happens.

How do I book a wedding illustrator?

Booking your date is simple and secure.
A 20% deposit reserves your wedding day, and the remaining balance is due two weeks before the event.
Most couples book 3–6 months in advance, but if you’re planning a last-minute celebration — send me a message. If the date is open, I’ll make it work.

Do you travel outside Bavaria?
Yes — love stories don’t stop at city borders.
Travel within 200 km of Haßfurt is included.
For weddings beyond Bavaria (Germany, Austria) I offer custom travel plans to make it effortless for you.
