The view of the city
When I moved to Erlangen, a beautiful city nestled in the heart of Franconia, Bavaria, I felt like a stranger—until I began to sketch.
Armed with just a sketchbook and a pocket-sized watercolor set, I wandered the charming streets, historical buildings, university squares, and quiet corners of this city. What started as a creative outlet quickly became my way of connecting with the world around me.
Each urban sketch I created — from the architecture of the Altstadt to moments in the Schlossgarten — wasn’t just about lines and colors. They were fragments of my journey as a newcomer, a mother, a woman rediscovering herself in a foreign land.
