FAQ: Live Wedding Illustration in Germany

❓ How many guests can you sketch during a wedding?

On average, I create 6–8 live guests per hour. In a 3-hour package, around 20–25  guests can be drawn. For larger weddings, I offer full-day coverage where up to 70 guests can receive a personal portrait.

❓ How long does one wedding sketch take?

Each portrait usually takes 5–8 minutes per guest. A couple’s portrait is more detailed and takes 30-60 minutes, created either live at your wedding or in advance from your photos.

❓ What materials do you use for the wedding sketches?

I only use archival-quality ink and professional watercolor on premium 300 g/m² A5 paper. Each artwork is durable, vibrant, and protected with sleeves so your guests can take them home safely.

❓ Can the sketches be personalized for our wedding?

Yes! Each sketch can be created on customized paper featuring your names, wedding date, or location. This makes the artwork even more meaningful and unique to your celebration.

❓ What happens if not all guests can be sketched during the event?

No guest will be left out. If time runs short, I take reference photos and complete the remaining portraits in my studio. These will be shipped to you within a week after your wedding.

❓ How do I book a wedding illustrator in Bavaria?

To secure your date, I require a 20% deposit. The balance is due two weeks before your wedding. Most couples book 3–6 months in advance to ensure availability, but last-minute bookings are possible if I’m free.

❓ Do you only illustrate weddings?

No — I also offer live sketching for corporate events, brand activations, and private celebrations. But weddings remain my most popular service, especially in Munich, Nuremberg, Bamberg, Würzburg, and Erlangen.

❓ Do you travel outside Bavaria for weddings?

Yes! Travel within 200 km of Haßfurt is included. For weddings further away in Germany or Europe, I offer customized travel arrangements.

❓ Can I commission a portrait instead of live sketching?

Of course! Many couples order custom portraits from photos — either before or after their wedding. These make timeless gifts or unique wedding mementos.

❓ Do you have a contract?

Yes, once you confirm your booking, I provide a clear service agreement outlining your package, timeline, and payment terms — so you have complete peace of mind.
